Not a must, but we enjoyed our visit. Great views, and the kids especially loved seeing the peacocks. Take an uber up if the walk will tire you out too much!Full review by hdempsey
When you book online do you need to book a certain date and time? It seems like you just buy a ticket and then it’s valid for 90 days after purchase so can you just turn up any day then to use it? Thank you

Taxi to the castle - how close would I get/what street would I ask for?

We took a Tuk Tuk to the castle; it was $10 one way and got us close to the castle entrance. The Tuk Tuk can also give you a tour of Alfama ending at the castle Lisboa is awesome!
