Someone suggested we hire a taxi and haggle over price and maybe miss out on info or perhaps just do the self guided walk around town? We are due there on 29th April.

Hello, if you're talking about town of Suva you won't need a taxi. When you come out from the ship to the dock, you'll see the market where they sell fruits, vegetables etc. Look ahead and you'll see Tappoo mall and MHCC mall. If you walk to right, where the traffic is going, about 15-20 minutes you'll reach Grand Pacific Hotel, across the road rugby field and beside that is Fiji museum, worth a visit. Then head to Grand Pacific for a cup of the at the terrace and enjoy the view and stroll back to central and do some shopping, crab a beer and watch the hustle and bustle of Fiji's capital before heading back to ship.
