Very informative museum which puts the world of Hals into perspective. Don't expect his most well-known paintings though as they are elsewhere but enough here to keep your attention.Full review by David n

The three that would normally be in the Frans Hals Museum that I saw in the Rijksmuseum exhibition were Banquet of the St George Militia Company and the Regents & Regentesses of the Old Men's Almshouse. The rest were still at Frans Hals Museum, where about ten were on display when I visited about 3 weeks ago including a couple of the other Militia Group portraits and the Regents of St Elisabeth's Hospital.

You can do it in 2 hours but I suggest 3 hours, then you are not so rushed [& still have time for another attraction plus a beer or 2 at Jopenkerk Brewery!

Take the train from Amsterdam Central station to Haarlem main station. Walk into the centre and walk on to the second bridge, don't cross that bridge but turn left along the canal and take the second street on the left. It just takes you a 15 to 20 minutes walk.
