This place will make you feel like you’re in the 10th century. Absolutely nothing else like it! Some of the sellers are pushy but polite when you say no.Full review by AimeeLally

Not knowing what to expect made this revelation so much more remarkable. Again an early start is needed to beat the frenetic buzz of tourists. It’s a steep climb through paved alleyways so you need t…Full review by postscript65

Easy! If you are used to drive through the mountains like the Alpes for example, or something alike than this would be no issue. We did it this winter with our little family with our small Fiat 500. Not the most powerfull car, but we didn’t need more. Stop once a while to enjoy the view. In the mountains, there are enough bars for a drink or food.

If I was going back I'd stay at Ait Benhaddou and make the day trip to Ouarzazate. Riad Tomdakhte is where I stayed for a night. It's on a gravel road but easily accessible by a small rental car (like I had). The owner, Mohammed, and his family are great. The rooms are nice, the tea is very good, and the food they cook is fantastic. For me, it's more relaxing and interesting than Ouarzazate.

Hi, We are doing a road trip in October, and wanted to visit Ait Ben Haddou. How long would you expect a visit here to take? We have lots of places to see, so need to plan carefully. Could you do this in an hour and a half (up to the top and back down, with a bit of an explore of the streets)? Thanks very much, Vicki

We spent a few hours. There is a stop to take pics as you approach. We parked at the Main Street hotel. Walked across the bridge and to the top. Takes you thru the seats so you get a good idea of what is there. My suggestion is you to the top first and then if you have time on the way down you can look around. This is pending your mobility is good.
