A full service outfitter offering Inn to Inn biking vacations, whitewater rafting trips, instruction and trips in fly fishing, kayaking, and mountain biking. We are based in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania on the banks of the Youghiogheny River and along the Great Allegheny Passage. We offer biking tours coast to coast, on roads and rail trails, small groups fully guided with SAG support. Whitewater rafting on the Youghiogheny, Cheat and Savage Rivers. We are the oldest whitewater rafting outfitter east of the Mississippi, providing outdoor adventures since 1964

We averaged about 40 -45 miles per day on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) with a grade of 1% to 2% as we headed east from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD. One …

We averaged about 40 -45 miles per day on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) with a grade of 1% to 2% as we headed east from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD. One day was a long day about 72 miles but the last 24 miles or so were all downhill on a 2 - 4 % grade going into Cumberland, MD. The entire trail is crushed stone and was an easy pedal. The next leg of the tour took us on the C&O canal which was flat and on a flat dirt path for most of the way.

Are any places along the GAP tour sites ones where bathrooms must be shared? My husband isn't keen on that.
A:
No problems finding hotels with private rooms and bathrooms. The park service provide portable toilets along the route and the towns have plenty of public options.
