The statue is worth visiting but is difficult to get close to. The statue is about 400 metres from the small car park. It is quite imposing.Full review by kenbaines

A good stretch of the legs with a bit of a climb from our hotel, (Drybrough Abbey Hotel), but well worth it, an imposing statue, with the bonus of fantastic views of the Tweed and surrounding hills.Full review by Paul K

You can peep between trees to see the view. The statue was discovered in an old pine tree plantation. As clearing happens, historical sites are being rediscovered. I guess the trees in front of statue have not been / may not be required for milling anymore as the farming land around is already cleared.
