They start leaving by early march. You may see some by the end of March but probably not in the thousands. January/February are fabulous. My favorite time is from about 11 am until 1 pm when they come in from feeding. If you are in the area, drive by pecan orchards on Frontier road. It is mazing to see the cranes on the ground amongst the trees.
