This was definitely worth a stop while in Lisbon. Even with a rainy day in Lisbon, it was still an enjoyable visit. It is fun climbing around the walls and the views are great!Full review by ChristineA293

When you book online do you need to book a certain date and time? It seems like you just buy a ticket and then it’s valid for 90 days after purchase so can you just turn up any day then to use it? Thank you
Taxi to the castle - how close would I get/what street would I ask for?

We took a Tuk Tuk to the castle; it was $10 one way and got us close to the castle entrance. The Tuk Tuk can also give you a tour of Alfama ending at the castle Lisboa is awesome!

I went in August and the Castle closed around 7pm. There was a long line to buy tickets; however, the line moved fast. As someone mentioned, there are other places in Lisbon to see a sunset.... anywhere actually. I also remember that the only form of payment was cash because the credit card machine was out of order. Make sure you bring cash with you just in case. Have fun!

I didn’t see any audio guides and they had run out of English guides on the day we visited which were very simple with a map of the castle. I have seen online that it is possible to book a guide but I think it is a private tour. If you are very interested in the history, I recommend you book a guide as we really just experienced it for the uniqueness and views but no understanding of the history. Good luck!
