The best way to reach Cavtat is by water taxi, which drops you straight onto the waterfront promenade. Lots of food, drink, ice cream available, or just people watch and enjoy the buzz.Full review by IsaacB5
Hi there i saw your review on Trip Advisor. I am going to stay in an air bnb in cavtat on Monday for 9 nights. I want a nice peaceful holiday with some local exploration. I am happy to use public transport and i was wondering if you got a "dubrovnik card" which I have seen mentioned. could you tell me how you get one and are credit cards accepted out there generally. and how paying on bus and ferry etc. Thank you

Sorry I didn’t see your query earlier, but for other travellers, my advice is buy the ticket online as it is cheaper than buying at the bus stops in Dubrovnik
Is there 2 parts to this town. We or going eron the boat for the day. Do you need to get a bus to the old town.

Basically it’s 2 connecting bays with the old town behind it but all within walking distance. One day would be plenty of time. Would recommend walking up to the cemetery in the old town.
Hi there, I am wondering how far the beaches (for swimming) are from the town? We are planning a week based here and hoping to use boat taxi's and ferries to get around so don't really want to do a car hire. Is it possible to walk to the various swimming locations on foot ? Thanks, In advance

Hi Cavtat is a lovely place - lots of places to eat overlooking the bay and little shops I don’t recall any beaches there but do recall people bathing on the rocks and jumping in to swim But only a few mins away by boat taxi is Mlini where there are lovely beaches Mlini is also worth considering as a place to stay The boat taxis are so frequent and drop off and pick up from all the little resorts you don’t need a car unless you want to explore further afield like we did. We went to Montenegro and drove around the fjord which was stunning. We also drove up into the hills where there are amazing restaurants hidden away There is also a good bus service that goes to Dubrovnik The water taxis operate every day until around midnight Hope this is helpful
