Even in autumn, the flowers and shrubs were still blooming and showy. We went twice and saw different things each time. Make sure you watch the red squirrels at feeding time.Full review by RothburyLady

From St Mary's to Tresco takes about 30 mins by small boat and it is a ten minute walk to the gardens. You may find there is an excursion from your ship to Tresco. Suggest you forget lunch as your time is very limited Enjoy

I visited in October. It was beautiful. There were lots of flowers and trees in bloom. If you have the luxury of visiting whenever you wish, I would go and pay a visit in every season. I bet you discover lovely things every time. Different plants are in bloom all year round. Enjoy and experience the beauty of nature. I hope this answer will help :)
Is it possible to see the squirrels without having to visit the gardens? That is, do they live anywhere outside the pay-zone? I'm visiting Scilly next year for the first time, not a plant freak but like wildlife. Just come back from a hotel in the Lake District where they visit the garden for free!
A:
Yes, go into the garden cafe. It's outside the pay area. The squirrels play around the cafe edge.
