The streets of Paris transformed from jubilation to devastation as Paris Saint-Germain’s historic Champions League triumph spiraled into widespread riots across the French capital.

One man died and more than 200 people were injured in clashes in Paris, after celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain’s victory in the Champions League final on Saturday were tarnished by violence in the French capital.

“Paris Saint-Germain condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence that occurred during the celebrations,” PSG wrote on social media on Sunday afternoon, with their players having flown back to Paris from Munich with the Champions League trophy ahead of their open-top bus parade.
