AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — Authorities have started handing over remains of the victims of one of India’s worst aviation disasters, days after the Air India flight crashed and killed at least 270 people, officials said Sunday.

Only one passenger has so far survived the crash of a Boeing Air India flight on Thursday in the city of Ahmedabad. With victims difficult to identify, families have been slow to receive their relatives' bodies for burial.

Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 carrying 242 people, crashed after taking off from Ahmedabad on its way to London.
