Apple Made a Major Change to Apple Intelligence that Some People Aren’t Going to Like
The feature is still technically considered a beta, but it will now be enabled on every device that is able to run Apple Intelligence, once they upgrade to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS. You will be able to turn off Apple Intelligence in Settings if you don’t want the features active on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Apple Intelligence, previously opt-in by default, enabled automatically in iOS 18.3
Apple Intelligence will only be enabled by default for hardware that supports it. For the iPhone, that's just the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPhone 16 series, and iPhone 16 Pro series. It goes further back on the iPad and Mac—Apple Intelligence works on any model with an M1 processor or newer.
