ABC 10News reporter Ryan Hill spoke to Cal Fire firefighters who worked closely with Rebecca Marodi, and they had nothing but kind words to share.

Cal Fire captain Rebecca "Becky" Marodi was stabbed to death at her home in San Diego County. The suspect has been identified as her wife, Yolanda Olenjniczak.

Rebecca Marodi, 49, a captain with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), was found at her Ramona residence with multiple stab wounds on the night of Feb. 17, after deputies responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon, according to a statement from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Yolanda Marodi, who is suspected in the slaying of her wife, a Cal Fire captain, pleaded guilty in 2004 to voluntary manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of her then-husband.
