By Dianna Russini, Zac Jackson and Alex Andrejev The Cleveland Browns are planning to start quarterback Jameis Winston for Sunday’s matchup against the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens, a league source said Wednesday.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns (1-6) season was all but over even before quarterback Deshaun Watson went down with a ruptured achilles tendon against the Bengals (3-4). The injury kind of summed up the Browns season so far. They have yet to score 20 points in a game and can’t get out of their own way, committing too many penalties and turnovers.

Watson ruptured his Achilles in Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. This ended his 2024 season and likely the Watson era in Cleveland at the same time. Second-year player Dorian Thompson-Robinson also left the game with a finger injury, and his status for this week is still up in the air.
