South Sudan has accepted eight third-country deportees from the U.S. and Rwanda says it’s in talk with the administration of President Donald Trump on a similar deal.

MONROVIA, July 10 (Reuters) - The Trump administration this week pressed five African presidents to take in migrants from other countries when they are deported by the U.S., two officials familiar with the discussions told Reuters on Thursday.

Donald Trump's anticipated meeting with five African leaders, including the presidents of Mauritania, Senegal, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, and Liberia, took place on July 9, 2025, as scheduled. The heads of state present at the meeting had a great deal of issues to address.
