Battery maker Duracell's longstanding research-and-development hub in Bethel will be replaced by a new R&D hub in Atlanta.

The company confirmed to FOX61 that it would be leaving its Bethel, Conn. location and plans to open its Atlanta headquarters in summer 2026.

Battery maker Duracell announced that it is moving its research and development headquarters out of Connecticut.

Duracell officials said the move will bring more than 100 jobs to Atlanta, but didn't say whether that included workers coming from Bethel.

Bethel First Selectman Dan Carter tells News 12 this decision has been in the works for some time and town officials knew the company would eventually move its research and development to Georgia to centralize it.
