If the first two hours of practice at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix are any indication, McLaren remains the team to beat. Even with the new Technical Directive impacting front wings that was put into place ahead of this weekend.

McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has set the fastest time in Friday's second practice session at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Piastri set his benchmark halfway through the one-hour session to grab the lead from Mercedes driver George Russell.

To follow: FP3 and qualifying tomorrow, ahead of Sunday’s race (9am ET). And that’s the end of the first free practice session in Barcelona. Lando Norris is quickest with a 1:13.718 set on soft tyres. He’s followed by Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri.
