Fundraisers have been launched to support the families of the three people killed and those injured in a New Year’s illegal-fireworks explosion, in what officials have called a mass casualty event.

UPDATE: City officials identified the child as Cassius Ramos-Benigno. A 3-year-old boy died Monday of injuries suffered in a massive fireworks explosion on New Year’s Eve in Salt Lake, according to the Honolulu Police Department. He is the fourth person to die in the incident, which also injured around 24 others, many critically.
