R&B icon Stedman Pearson has died age 60 after huge chart success in the 80s with his siblings in the band Five Star. Hailing from Romford, Essex, his sister Deniece confirmed Pearson was ‘on dialysis and had diabetes’ before his death on March 10.

In a statement, Pearson's family confirmed he was being treated for diabetes and was on dialysis.

Stedman Pearson, who has died aged 60, was one-fifth of the sibling pop group Five Star whose flame burned brightly, albeit briefly, in the 1980s.
