Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner played out the longest final in the history of the French Open as the battle lasted five hours and 29 minutes. Eventually, it was Alcaraz who took home a massive prize money after saving three championship points.

French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz could lose up to a third of his prize money after his fifth Grand Slam triumph. Alcaraz, 22, beat world number one Jannik Sinner in a final which lasted nearly five and a half hours at Roland-Garros on June 8.

For winning the French Open, Carlos Alcaraz took home a prize money of Rs 24.83 crore, while Sinner received Rs 12.42 crore, according to India TV. Both the men’s and women’s singles champions took home Rs 24.83 crore.
