India and Pakistan extended the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor agreement for five more years, ensuring continued pilgrim access to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

India and Pakistan will extend the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor Agreement for five years, ensuring uninterrupted pilgrim access to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. India also urged Pakistan to waive the USD 20 service charge imposed on pilgrims.

MEA noted that in response to ongoing requests from pilgrims regarding the $20 service charge imposed by Pakistan for each visitor, India has reiterated its appeal for Pakistan to waive any fees or charges for pilgrims.

Days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation or SCO meeting, India and Pakistan on Tuesday agreed to renew the agreement on the Kartarpur corridor for another five years.

The Government of Pakistan has announced the renewal of Kartarpur Corridor agreement for an additional period of five years. According to a Foreign Office statement, the agreement between India and Pakistan is aimed to facilitate the pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur at Narowal in Pakistan.
