U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said he would fire some FBI agents who were involved in investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

FBI employees and the Justice Department agreed to a court order Friday that bars the DOJ from releasing a list of FBI employees who worked on January 6 cases – including the one against Donald Trump – publicly,

The Justice Department also requested a list of agents involved in a U.S. criminal case against leaders of the Hamas militant group.

The FBI has provided the Justice Department with names of employees who worked on January 6-related cases after a new demand from the acting deputy attorney general, capping a weeklong back-and-forth between bureau leadership – who had sought to protect agent and staff identities – and the department.

The agreement does not impose a constraint on the distribution of agents' identities to government agencies or the White House.
