Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held talks in Beirut with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss ongoing efforts to enhance stability and security in Lebanon and ensure respect for Lebanese sovereignty, including in Palestinian refugee camps, a government readout said.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam have agreed to improve the living conditions at Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, while reiterating that they must also be demilitarised.

The Lebanese and Palestinian presidents agreed Wednesday that Palestinian factions won't use Lebanon as a launchpad for any attacks against Israel, and to remove weapons that aren't under the authority of the Lebanese state.
