President Donald Trump has pulled the nomination of conservative activist Ed Martin Jr. to be the top federal prosecutor for the nation’s capital, after a key Republican senator said he could not support Martin for the job due to his defense of Jan.

Martin’s missteps cost the St. Louis election board and the Missouri governor’s office millions in legal fees and settlement payments.
