New Japan Pro-Wrestling presented NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. In the main event, Zack Sabre Jr. defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Shota Umino. The show featured multiple title changes.

NJPW's "Ace," and President, Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to face an old associate and AEW star at Wrestle Dynasty.

Konosuke Takeshita won the NEVER Openweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19, defeating Shingo Takagi. Takeshita picked up the victory with a roaring elbow followed by the Raging Fire. Takeshita remains the AEW International Champion. He will defend both titles against Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th.

The IWGP Tag Team Championship match at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty is now a three-way. Great-O-Khan and HENARE were previously set to defend the titles against The Young Bucks. However, due to an injury to HENARE,

AEW, NJPW, and CMLL band together for the first-ever Wrestle Dynasty on Saturday, featuring stars from each promotion, as well as AEW's sister promotion, ROH.
