Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul said he's concerned over the message that could be sent by President Donald Trump's upcoming military parade.

The military parade is expected to feature over 6,000 soldiers and a variety of military equipment, but it’s drawn criticism from some, including the Kentucky senator.

Some have likened the parade to the military chest-pounding commonly seen in North Korea. "We were proud not to be that," Paul said.

With the agency on Trump's wish list for cuts, Sen. Paul told reporters he believed there is a “role” for FEMA to play in responding to natural disasters.
