The Supreme Court agreed Monday to take up the case of a Rastafarian man seeking to sue prison officials in Louisiana who cut off his dreadlocks while he was incarcerated.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the appeal of a former Louisiana prison inmate whose dreadlocks were shaved by guards in violation of his religious beliefs.

Damon Landor, whose faith requires him to let his hair grow long, said guards threw a court ruling in the trash before holding him down and shaving his head to the scalp.
