Shohei Ohtani is adding children’s book author to his resume. The two-way Dodgers superstar will release Decoy Saves Opening Day on Feb. 3, 2026. It’s inspired by his beloved Kooikerhondje, Decoy Ohtani, who has become something of an unofficial mascot among Dodgers fans due to his frequent appearances with Ohtani.

The Dodgers lost their fifth consecutive game to Milwaukee this season, but Ohtani continued to impress, going 2-for-5 with a home run.

Shohei Ohtani will get the ball on Monday night when the Los Angeles Dodgers face the Minnesota Twins, but he’s still on a short leash. The two-way star is expected to pitch just three innings before handing it over to right-hander Dustin May, according to manager Dave Roberts.
