A Wisconsin woman who was 12 years old when she stabbed her classmate nearly to death in an attempt to appease the fictional online character Slender Man will be released from a psychiatric hospital,

Morgan Geyser, convicted of stabbing a classmate to please the fictional horror character Slender Man more than a decade ago, was back in court.

A man and woman were arrested at a home in Nokomis after a neighbor suspected that the two were squatting, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Several California criminal suspects seemed shocked to learn they would not be cited and released but going to jail instead.

Morgan Geyser has spent nearly seven years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute. She has petitioned Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren, who committed her, for release four times since June 2022.
