Rutgers University has chosen William Tate as its 22nd president at a time of intense pressure on American universities.

William F. Tate IV, a renowned social scientist and president of the Louisiana State University (LSU) system since May 2021, has been appointed the 22nd president of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

LSU President William Tate has been selected as the new president of Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he'll start July 1, according to Rutgers' Board of Governors.
