Travis County breaks record on 1st day of early voting

Travis County's day-one voter turnout highest since 2012
Other major Texas counties, including Bexar and Tarrant, saw a notable increase in first-day turnout compared to the 2020 election, according to the secretary of state's office. But the state's two most populous counties, Harris and Dallas, saw a decrease from 2020.

The timing for early voting can change depending on the day and county. In order to vote in person during early voting or on election day, Texas voters will be asked to present an acceptable form of photo ID.
More people in Travis County voted on the first day of early voting than ever before
More than 46,000 people cast their ballots in person on Monday. The record-breaking number also accounts for population growth in the county.
Travis, Williamson counties report record number of early voters compared to previous years
Monday marked the start of early voting in Texas, with record turnout reported in Travis County. According to the Travis County Clerk's Office, the county saw higher numbers on the first day of voting this year than in the past three general elections.
