The $45 million project to widen the 9-mile stretch of sand between Clearwater and Redington Beach is supposed to take place in 2024.

Beachcombers will soon receive official permission to hike a new 1-mile trail to Clayton Beach in Larrabee State Park, Washington’s oldest state park. The route is planned to open Aug. 1.
