TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama softball put its character on display Sunday as the Crimson Tide persevered through numerous obstacles to claim its first SEC series victory of the year by taking down No. 17 Georgia 8-5 in the last game of the weekend series.

The Crimson Tide begins the first of three epic battles in the distant and mystical land of Baton Rouge. They won’t have any Frodo, wizards, or elves to aid them on their journey as they battle the #5 Tigers. Alabama (27-13, 4-5) is back in the four polls at 22/23/24/24. LSU is 5/5/7/7.

The No. 15 Georgia softball team defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 4-3 on Friday evening in the opening game of their weekend series at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. With
