PATERSON — For the first time in generations, the city's eighth graders will not wear caps and gowns at graduation ceremonies this June to mark the end of their elementary school days.

PATERSON — Facing complaints and criticism from parents, the Board of Education is moving to drop its one-year ban on the wearing of caps and gowns for elementary and middle school graduations.
