POTTSVILLE — The Mahanoy Area boys basketball team came up short Wednesday night at Martz Hall. The Golden Bears (20-4) were defeated by Catasauqua, 61-36 in the District 11 3A semifinals.

Many in the community don't want to see the rivalry end, including the high school's football players who collected more than 1,000 signatures.
