Petr Mrázek drew a step closer to fully recovering from a left groin injury and returning as the Chicago Blackhawks starting goaltender when the team activated him from injured reserve Thursday.

Chicago Blackhawks goalie Petr Mrázek didn’t outright say Thursday that he wants to be traded — a day after the team removed him from the goalie platoon — but he sounded open to it.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Blackhawks have placed goaltender Petr Mrazek on injured reserve with a left groin injury. Mrazek was replaced by Arvid Soderblom in the first period of a 4-2 loss to Winnipeg.
