CLAY CENTER, Kan. (KSNT) – The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has confirmed a 69-year-old man died after being hit by a school bus Tuesday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the pedestrian as 69-year-old Harold Mugler of Clay Center. Clay County Schools USD 379 said there were no students on the school bus involved in the accident.

The driver of the school bus, 71-year-old Brenda Peterson of Clay Center, failed to see Mugler in the crosswalk. Mugler died at the scene of the accident, according to the crash logs.
