The Interior Alaska musher won his first Iditarod on his eighth try, arriving in Nome with his dog team early Friday.

Mackey said she attempted to activate the SOS button on her tracker but decided to drive her team back to Tanana so the dog — Jett, which she carried in her sled — could receive veterinary care.
