Louisiana wildlife agency wants help tracking rare animal. Have you seen an Eastern Spotted Skunk? - MSNPeople can report any sightings, including roadkill, game cameras or inadvertent catch from fur trapping, according to LDWF. The Eastern Spotted Skunk is not to be confused with the Striped Skunk.
According to the SVWC, only six of the skunk species have even been seen in the last 20 years. They're also very elusive, but this lucky skunk was thankfully found, stuck inside a dryer exhaust vent.
The center is expecting to release the skunk out into the wild sometime on Friday. Eastern spotted skunks are relatively rare, and are listed as “vulnerable” on the IUCN Red List.
