MESA, Ariz. — Mesa Public Schools announced Wednesday the district was amending its graduation policies to allow students to wear military stoles after a student voiced her objections.

MESA, Ariz. — Graduation ceremonies are steeped in tradition. However, a longstanding tradition in Mesa is preventing students from displaying their military service stoles at graduation.

While stoles are not allowed during graduation, the school says it encourages students to bring them for photos and celebrations afterward.
