The CEO of the company behind a driverless car model in China has spoken out after three people died in a crash involving their car. Three girls lost their lives on March 29 after an SU7 electric car made by Xiaomi Automobile Corp crashed while operating on the Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) intelligent-assisted driving mode.

The house on Craig Road near Symmes Drive caught fire after the 5 a.m., crash, police said Tuesday. WABC-7 said the vehicle might have struck a gas line. Passing motorists and a neighbor pulled the driver from the burning SUV before police and emergency workers arrived. The driver was brought to an area hospital.

A popular electric vehicle made by the Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi crashed into a concrete guardrail while deploying its autonomous driving feature. Three people died.

The sudden drop came after the company said that one of its SU7 models was involved in a lethal accident on an expressway in China’s Anhui province.

On Saturday evening, a Xiaomi SU7, the first and a flagship electric car of the company, collided with a highway cement barrier and caught fire on a highway in central Anhui province, killing all the three passengers.
