The Food Factory will eventually have seven, 800-square-foot “micro restaurants” to go with its 2,400-square-foot The Factory Bar that also has started serving up cocktails.

The long-awaited Food Factory Foodie Collective is finally opening, five years after it was first announced. The factory is set to open July 26, with limited preview hours.

McCargo, 51, hopes to create a food innovation center at the former factory site, a 1.26-acre property tucked alongside the Ben Franklin Bridge and about a block from the Waterfront.
