Rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel sparking concern about whether the fragile ceasefire​ with the militant group would hold.

Israeli artillery and airstrikes hit south Lebanon on Saturday after Israel said it had intercepted rockets fired from across the border, killing at least eight people and endangering a shaky truce that ended a year-long war between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

Israel has carried out multiple air strikes on Lebanon after several rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel, in the worst violence since a ceasefire came into effect in November. The Israeli military said it had hit dozens of rocket launchers and a command centre belonging to Hezbollah,
