T he Catholic Church is preparing to celebrate what it refers to as a "Jubilee" year in 2025. And as a part of its preparations, the Vatican has rolled out a brand new anime-inspired mascot: Luce.

Vatican City, Oct 28, 2024 / 12:55 pm. Ahead of the 2025 Jubilee, the Vatican has launched a cartoon mascot unveiled Monday as the cheerful face of the Catholic Church’s upcoming holy year.

Luce, along with her trusty dog Santiago and other pilgrim friends, Fe, Xin and Sky, will be going to Osaka, Japan, in April in the Holy See’s pavilion at Expo 2025.
