The Mercure hotel chain is set to open a revamped 168-room hotel in West Bromwich in the Black Country on the Birmingham Road - the former home of the Park Inn hotel.

The remaining three hotels; Mercure Cardiff North Hotel, Mercure Birmingham West Hotel and Mercure Harlow Hotel are set to be branded as Mercure by the end of this year.

Mercure Birmingham West Hotel in West Bromwich Premier Inn, with an average price per night of £66, was the best performing large hotel chain with a customer score of 79 per cent.

A Birmingham hotel has been put up for sale with a £2.85m price tag. Business property advisor Christie & Co has brought to market the Mercure Birmingham Barons Court Hotel in Walsall Wood.
