HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The high school baseball season is flying by and contenders across the state are starting to emerge. Among them are the Mililani Trojans who are looking to make a deep run.

Mililani senior Kai Hirayama tossed the baseball he threw in a 1-0, perfect-game performance against Kailua on April 25 in the OIA playoffs.

That would include his mother, Cori, a world history teacher at Leilehua High School ... since probably sixth grade at Mililani Middle School. I grew up playing baseball with him.
