Well it happened, folks. The Athletics won a game. They snapped their nine-game losing streak in a big way on Thursday afternoon, avoiding the dreaded four-game sweep at the hands of the Minnesota Twins by clobbering them 14-3 to get the A’s back in the win column after over a week.

Willi Castro hit a pair of homers and the Minnesota Twins scored four runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to hand the Athletics their eighth straight loss and 19th in their last 20 games, 10-3.

A one-out, two-strike home run off the bat of Ryan Jeffers in the opening frame put the A's in an early hole they would never come out of as they eventually fell 6-1. Opener Justi
