Hello Kitty's buddy My Melody turns 50 in 2025 and Sanrio has released a range of merch to celebrate. Headlining the range is a special Squishmallow that's available now via Jazwares.

The series features My Melody, who since her debut in 1975 has continued to be loved by a wide range of fans, and Kuromi, who debuted in 2005 as My Melody’s self-proclaimed rival.

My Melody has spent the past 20 years, the entirety of Kuromi's run, believing she and Kuromi are best friends. However, Kuromi doesn't share that sentiment and believes them to be enemies.
