SEC as in a basketball conference The SEC has been synonymous with football power for decades. The gridiron teams need to move over and share the spotlight with the basketball squads. Selection Sunday saw 14 SEC schools get invited to the big dance.

While about 80 schools are locked in to see who they'll be facing in the first weekend of March Madness — or if they did enough made the tournament at all — a number of well-known basketball schools are already heading back to the drawing board to figure out how they can get in next year.

A time for teams to embark on Cinderella runs and players to become college basketball legends. March Madness is almost here as the season comes to a crescendo with 68 teams vying to lift that storied trophy.
